QUESTION

Can I go after a phone company for breaking a contract?

Asked on Jul 22nd, 2013 on Litigation - New York
More details to this question:
Phone company sold me 4G phones, promised I would have 4G in a year till then I would have 3G. I bought 3 phones and accessories waited and 4 months later they announced they were taking down and getting out of the Illinois market. Now they won't unlock the phone. I feel they sold all these phones under false pretenses knowing they were pulling out of the market. If I knew this, I would never have bought from them.

Yes you have a case against them since you bought the phones based on their representations of the better service.

You do have a cause of action, but it will cost you more than what you could recover. Contact the Attorney Generals Office, Consumer Division and see what they can do for you.
