Back in 2013 I had to sue my stepfather for $22,000. My lawyer took on the case on a contingency basis. I won the case. My stepfather has to pay my lawyer $400 every month, my lawyer takes $100 from that and is supposed to send me $300 every month. I haven’t received a payment from my lawyer since 03/2018. I have been emailing and calling trying to get in contact with him and his paralegal asking when I will be receiving my next disbursement check. Only his paralegal replies saying “I will forward your email and messages to him.” My lawyer NEVER gets back with me ever. Am I still able to file a complaint against him if the case is over and done with? If not, what can I do? Also, I live all the way in CA now and my lawyer is in Memphis,TN where the whole case took place.
As you were adcvised before, you should file a complaint with the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility which regulates attorneys in Tennessee. They should be able to help you.
