QUESTION

can I sue a chain restaurant for negligence?

Asked on Dec 07th, 2012 on Civil Litigation - New York
More details to this question:
I had an experience at a restaurant where they served me what appeared to look like part of animals face specifically the eyebrows or eyelids with the lashes inside of my soup. I was and still am disgusted and traumatized by this situation. I wanted to know if there was a chance that I could sue this chain restaurant for their neglect and sloppiness for preparing food and serving customers unhealthy and unsanitary products.

Anyone can sue anyone for anything. However, unless you have suffered longstanding serious injury with loss of wages and meaningful medical expenses, no attorney will take your case on a contingent-fee basis. The recovery available for being "disgusted" is nominal.
