Can I sue a company that made a false claim against me?

More details to this question:
The staffing agency I worked for made a false claim against me to the GDOL stating that I was aware of their tardy and absent policy when I was never made aware and there is no documentation to back it up. As a result I have been denied for unemployment insurance because of this false claim and I have bills that need to be paid!

If this claim was already adjudicated in the course of determination of your unemployment claim, you are not going to be able to re-raise it in civil litigation outside of the unemployment mechanism.
