QUESTION

Can I sue a walk in tub installation company?

Asked on Nov 20th, 2020 on Civil Litigation - Florida
More details to this question:
I had a Safe Step walk in tub installed in my home. The entire installation was a disaster. First the wrong tub was installed. The also offered to close off the wall where one door was...Then on the second installation they said they couldn't close in that wall but would have to put the door back, but the other installer told me that they discarded the door...after much arguing they agreed to close the wall...they then flooded my home and ruined a brand new vapor barrier that was just installed under my home because they failed to shut off the water before setting the tub in place. They finally offered to pay to have the vapor barrier replaced and send a check for 250.00 for the inconvenience of having the wrong tub installed. So I signed a release and they sent the check...Well yesterday I had a company out to repair the vapor barrier but they found that the drain to the new tub is not sealed and every time the tub is emptied the water drains under my home. I have a video of this.

but you signed a release and thats a problem. You will need to have a lawyer review the release which will likely cost you more than the $250.00 you got paid. You should have consulted with a lawyer before you signed any release.
