QUESTION

Can minors consume alcohol?

Asked on Jan 16th, 2015 on Litigation - Minnesota
More details to this question:
I recently heard that minors could have a glass of wine at dinner (for example) as long as they were in their legal parent/guardian's home with their parent/guardian's consent and supervision. Is that correct or is there something in missing from that?

Minnesota law prohibits alcohol consumption by those under 21. However, "if proven by a preponderance of the evidence, it is an affirmative defense to a violation of this clause that the defendant consumed the alcoholic beverage in the household of the defendant's parent or guardian and with the consent of the parent or guardian."
