QUESTION

Can my employer suspend me without pay?

Asked on Feb 11th, 2014 on Litigation - Texas
More details to this question:
I am suspended without pay at Wal-Mart for something that happened at home not at work. I haven't been at work since Jan 25 that's the last day I work and I been calling everyday leaving message and leaving my number to call me back and they never do call me. I give them paper to show what I got and they have a copy of them. The night shift manager was going to talk to the store management to find out what's going on and he never called me back at all.

Employer may lawfully suspend you for any reason, or no reason, or a bad reason. You may go file an unemployment claim now. Same DOL rules apply to suspensions and discharges. You do not need to be separated to collect UI benefits.
