Can my mom keep me from getting my stuff when I decide to move out?

More details to this question:
I am 28 years old. I am pregnant and trying to get a place with my boyfriend. When I say something to my mother about me moving out she comes off with the landlord can take me to court, but the lease is up, has been for a few years now. From what I have heard, if the lease is up the landlord can't do a thing. Then my mother comes off with she will take me to court or something to make me help pay bills when I am not even going to be living here anymore. Then when I say I will call the cops if I have to to get my stuff she acts like she will talk to them or try to do something to keep me from getting my stuff. I'm just wanting to make sure that she can't keep me from getting my stuff or anything.

If the lease is up, then you are on a month-to-month tenancy, which means that you only have to give the landlord 20 days notice of your intent to leave. That's 20 days notice prior to the end of the month.

Your stuff is your stuff. You are an adult and your mother can't legally keep it from you.

Since you no longer have a written lease, your tenancy is viewed as month-to-month. In Washington, you need to give twenty days notice before the end of the month that you plan to leave. After such notice, you do not owe any other rent. Under the law she cannot retain your property.
