More details to this question:
I was the chair person for a junior class reunion along with one other person. This person is now suing me for $630 plus $225 in interest! We did alot of communicating via text messages & verbally. This person stated in her text message that the remaining balance on her tab was $370 and that she needed it sent to her paypal account. She then got upset with me when i didnt respond fast enuff and got VERY belligerant with me the day before the meet n greet which was thursday. She embarrased me at the meet n greet and the next day at the class cookout she got on the microphone and told everyone that I stole money from them the police had to be called. I opted out of goin to the school dance due to her behavior & she made a post about me facebook humiliating me. She also collected money upon admission at the meet n greet & dance charging $30 that she KEPT for herself!! Is her claim valid and can i countersue for slander & harassment?

No idea about what her claim is but you might have a strong slander case based on the microphone comments - assuming they aren't true. The bad news is such cases are typically hourly rate/retainer cases not contingent fee cases so you will need to weigh the expense of litigation with the actual damages of the conduct to determine if its a good investment for you.
