can you sue a employer for slander?

More details to this question:
There is currently an ongoing investigation with my employer and it's a confidential thing. One of the managers is telling random customers about it and also making statements that have yet to be determined.

It is possible to sue an employer for slander, but you must suffer actual legally recognized harm your reputation as a result. Since you can't tell what statements are being made, you don't know if you have been slandered.
