QUESTION

Collecting a judgment

Asked on Mar 29th, 2014 on Civil Litigation - Pennsylvania
More details to this question:
I received a default judgment against Megabus.com for about $1,200 in small claims. I was able to sue them here in State College, PA because they had a bus stop location here. All the papers were served to their main headquarters in Illinois & they ignored. So, now that I've won, they still ignore my request to pay tho I suppose they have a lien etc. against property. How do I get a sheriff (I assume) enforce the judgment if I'm here in PA and obviously the local sheriff won't go to Illinois to serve it? Thank you.

I would call the county courthouse where they are headquartered and see about registering a foreign judgment there. Once it is registered there, follow that county's procedures for executing judgment.
