QUESTION

Concerned with landlord's behavior want to be prepared for court just in case

Asked on May 25th, 2021 on Civil Litigation - Florida
More details to this question:
Rental type is a house. For example he wanted first months rent and deposit, but also last month's rent for a month to month rental which wasn't specified in the lease, and failed to provide a receipt. After some pressure he furnished a receipt, but the deposit shows as only $500, not the full month's rent that we paid for it. There is an increasing list of concerns with the arrangement. If interested in taking a case please respond to discuss further.

This post makes no sense as it seems to pe preparing for a confrontation that hasn't started yet and based upon claims that are untenable. By exanple, NOW you expect to claim you paid a cash extra months rent despite getting a receipt that says otherwise - as if that will carry any weight in court. The remedy here is terminate the tenancy and move to place with a better landlord.
