QUESTION

Confirmation of Arbitration Award

Asked on Feb 19th, 2021 on Civil Litigation - Florida
More details to this question:
I need to file a motion/petition for Confirmation of Arbitration Award for $10,572 that took place in Orlando, FL last month. The respondent is refusing to pay. Where and how would I file this? (FYI, this circus has already cost me almost $3,000 for the actual arbitration and I'm angry that a businessman can get away with dragging me through the ringer like this.)

an arb award or a judgement is not an order to pay. Its simply a court ruling that you are owed the money and you are left with enforcing it at your expense. You may find that by doing this on your own you were just "tilting at windmills". You can read Fla. Stat. 682 but you will likely need to retain a lawyer at some point to try to collect the money
