QUESTION

Could I have had the judge disqualifed?

Asked on May 29th, 2017 on Litigation - Florida
More details to this question:
I was a litigant to a case. I believed I had a very good case but was assigned an incompetent judge. I know I couldn't have him disqualified for that reason. However, at the end of my last hearing, the judge made a compliment to the opposing attorney about his wife. And even though this may seem petty, his comment made me believe the judge's previous interactions with this attorney influenced his behavior over my case. And obviously the judge had to have met this guy's wife. So could I have had him disqualified?

More likely your lack of lawyering ability was the culprit - not a conspiracy theory. By example, seeking to DQ a judge is a classic knee jerk reaction by legions of pro-se litigants and it usually backfires badly, even when it works. You really need to consider hiring a lawyer to handle the litigation case.
