You could file suit in Small Claims Court ("SCC"). SCC is designed for the public to be able to file a claim without an attorney. With a little research and a $300 investment, you could get your claim filed. The trick would be getting service on the manufacture. I don't think you have a very strong case, legally speaking, but it could work. They might not even defend the suit, and you could win by default. Your other option would be to call and complain. This might be more effective. But if you manage to get a judgment, call a debt collection attorney, and get them to help you collect the judgment. Usually, legal fees are recoverable for post-judgment collection actions. I would expect this project to require an investment of 40-100 hours of your time, primarily in research, and you should have a result in 3-9 months. Good Luck.
