More details to this question:
After my husband's mother passed away he and I moved in to her home to begin going through her belongings and getting the house ready to sell. My sister in law was handling the sale. Once sold we were under the impression that the date we were to be out was the 2nd, however on Christmas eve while we were visiting family the buyer placed a padlock on the door with our kids Christmas gifts and our dog still inside, along with everything we own and all of my mother in laws belongings. We were then told by our neighbor and friend that the buyer said we needed to get our stuff out. We attempted to contact them to let them know we were getting a truck the following day to get our stuff (This was on December 27th). On the morning of the 28th we got a call to let us knowthe house was on the ground. All of our belongings, including all of mine and my 11 year old daughters clothing still inside. Do I have A case? Should I have been informed or evicted?
