QUESTION

Do I have a case to sue my lawyer for malpractice ?

Asked on Jan 23rd, 2017 on Civil Litigation - New York
More details to this question:
I am asking this question on behalf of my brother. He is semi - literate and was the plaintiff in a civil rights case against the city of Asbury Park, New Jersey. Case number (3:12-cv-06524-DEA). My brother signed the Settlement agreement with no signature witness. I believe this is highly un-ethical and this is my main cause for helping him today. I suspect the fees charged by the lawyer were far beyond 'reasonable'. The lawyer has failed to provide the agreement to my brother to this date. I suspect he has something to hide. Let me know if this case has any ground.

This is not malpractice, but an ethics issue.  Call the Monmouth County Bar, and submit an ethics grievance to the ethics committee.
