Do I have a chance?

I'm being sued by 2 men that attacked my husband at his job. As my husband was trying to escape from the attackers, he jumped into my parked vehicle that was uninsured to flee from the attackers. My husband trying to escape ran inside the car and tried to drive off to escape. one of the attackers jumped in front of the vehicle as my husband tried to avoid hitting him, he hit the second attacker by the tip of my car. The case went to trial & husband was in jail for 5 months and was found NOT guilty on 3 counts of felony assault 1, 2 & 3!!! Now the attackers are suing us for $1 million under a personal injury claim. When my husband tapped him with his car he fell into the street and another car who is a bystander hit him . Therefore one of the attackers ended up in the hospital for couple weeks. where do I go from here? We are also interested in suing the attackers and police for the 5 months my husband spent in jail for pain & suffering, loss of income & job. Can I?
