My husband and i did a contested divorce and he said that it was granted oct. 5 2012 he wont bring me any paper work and when i called the court they said they dont have anything on file

Many times, a phone call is not enough to learn what is in the court record. That is because the clerk may not have all the information or may simply be wrong. Moreover, he or she won't go through the whole file for you. but you can.
Alternatively, if the divorce was contested, I would think you would have a lawyer and could ask him or her. Or you can hire one for the limited purpose of finding out that answer. But a review of the court file should answer the question.
