QUESTION

How do I find out what the debt to which this motion refers is?

Asked on Mar 26th, 2021 on Civil Litigation - Arizona
More details to this question:
My wife received a copy of a "Motion to Extend Time for Service of Process" while at work yesterday, March 25. It lists the collection Law firm as Lippman Recupero, LLC in Tucson. She was the owner of our golf management corporation in Rio Rico AZ, which the owner closed in August 2018. What steps should we now take to find out the nature of this alleged debt, so that it can be either settled or dismissed? We need initial advice, and then representation. I have contacted two law firms who only offer on line chats at this point, but I would gladly pay for a consultation to avoid unnecessary litigation if that is all that can be done at this time. Thank you.

Appellate Practice Attorney serving New York, NY
Personally i would probably just wait until I was served with eth summons and complaint, but if you're dead set on precipitating matters, call the plaintiff's attorney and ask him/her what it's all about.
