I deposited a check into a friends account because I didn't have an account at the time. I was staying with this person at the time. I left this persons home and since then I sent her a few letters asking for the money that was left in her account and her response each time was, I don't have your money. What do I need to do to get my money back?

You will have to sue and prove that she has your money as opposed to you gave them a check in thier account that was THIER money. Whether this is worth the ffort depends on how much money is at issue.
