QUESTION

How do I know if I have a defamation case?

Asked on Dec 20th, 2021 on Civil Litigation - Connecticut
More details to this question:
May 2021, my husband was arrested on a sexual assault charge. He was leaving a bar in Milford and walked passed 2 or 3 girls on the sidewalk and 20 minutes later he was picked up and arrested. The girl claimed he grabbed her ass. Since we received very clear footage and it shows very clearly it was not intent and he in fact did not grab her ass. He is still going to court to clear this charge and it keeps getting postponed waiting for the claimant to respond. She is now accusing the prosecutor is calling her a liar. Since my husband has lost his job, has 3 daughters who are embarrassed and it almost ruined our marriage. He is in therapy and suffering from severe depression. Please advise and let us know if we have a case?
