QUESTION

How do I prepare for court? What do I need to bring?

Asked on May 30th, 2018 on Litigation - Utah
More details to this question:
I just received a small claims summons for court in July. I took out a loan in January that was set up with monthly payments. I paid the first and second payments in Feb. and Mar. and then could only pay a partial amount for Apr. Between that partial payment and now, I began working with National Debt Relief, who informed me that I was to change my contact information with all creditors, so that National Debt Relief is contacted instead. I did so. In May I received a message saying that this one particular company doesn't work with debt relief companies so I asked them what my options were. I received an email from their legal department asking if I had received court papers, and was told in that same email that they could set up payments if I contacted her. I immediately replied back stating that I had not received any papers, but am still planning on paying, but just can't make full payments at the moment. I never heard anything about the payments she said I could set up.
