QUESTION

How do I sue for damages to my home from a hi and run driver?

Asked on Apr 10th, 2023 on Litigation - Florida
More details to this question:
A man ran into my house on April 4, 2023 with his F 350 Ford super duty pick up truck and caused major structural damage to my foundation on my attached enclosed porch. I was at home when it happened sitting on my couch and when I stood up to see what was going on, he put his truck in reverse and peeled up the street and out of our park. And I was told that he drove to the Publix on Oslo Rd after. He was issued a citation by the Indian River County Sheriff Department.

You may be able to sue the driver for property damage, as well as personal injury, damages, and recover based on the insurance policy limits of the auto coverage. If he has an umbrella policy, or another insurance policy, that would cover these damages, that would also be a source of recovery.
