Loaned 2000.00 to be paid back in 12 equal monthly payments. Person wrote me a check for each payment in advance, I was to cash one each month, when I went to cash the first one. His account had been closed. I was going to forget about them but now have decided not to. Would I still have a claim against him. Had the agreement written out and signed by both parties. I have the agreement and the checks he gave me.

You can sue the person for breach of contract in General Sessions Court which is our small claims court. Contact the General Sessions Court Clerk for the county where you live and they can explain how to start the lawsuit.
