How long does an agreement stay valid when signed by one party and not the other?

More details to this question:
Three months from now, can the other party say "well we have an agreement"? This really isn't a defense question but a general corporate question.

That depends on all the facts and if the parties have each done things in reliance on the agreement.

Under contract law, one can claim that due to the extended time from the offer, there was not a meeting of the minds; hence, no contract.
