My brother passed away in June.. He was really Disrespected, the family, his son and I was really disrespected and I feel like it was because he over dosed I had never experienced anything like that from this funeral home ever we have had a couple funerals there and thier grave yard is where I have alot of family buried from The time the funeral home got him until the time they put him in the ground it was all bad., but we were treated awful, and there was knats on his face and at the time I was so emotionally drained I wouldn't have not let that director tell. Me that there was nothing he could do, oh my god, that's horrible, I'm the one that found him and his 19 year old son happened to be home then and he was there, anyways as if our situation wasn't bad as it was, it's been almost two months and the night we found him isn't what haunts us anymore that was knocked out of the picture now I just keep seing Nats on his face and it's bothering me. So bad i can't Stand it + there's more.
Your family may have a decent case, depending on any pictures that you have taken to document the funeral home misconduct. Did you take pictures? Keep in mind that most states have laws that allow only certain family members to have standing to sue. Generally, the spouse and the children have claims in most states. Indiana may or may not follow that general rule.
I have done many of these cases throughout the country and each is fact specific. Discuss in private with counsel.
