QUESTION

I received a letter

Asked on Aug 19th, 2020 on Civil Litigation - Washington
More details to this question:
I received a letter from a court stating that judgment was made based on default on my part. Yet no one served me with anything. So how can I fix that? I called the attorney who’s name is on it and she acted like she didn’t care and said yes you were served and I said when? She said if you wanna appeal it I suggest you get a good lawyer. I said so you’re basically scamming me? She never responded. What action can I take? What motion can I file?

File a motion to vacate the default judgment based on lack of service.  If you can convicne the court that you were never served the judgment with be vacated.  However, it is possible that you were validly served without knowing about it - service doesn't necessarily required that the sumons and complaint be handed to you.
