You are kidding!!! They buy standard furniture to establish their business. To make every piece of furniture strong enough to handle your weight would be prohibitively expensive. Additionally, just by looking at the furniture, you should be able to tell if it can handle your weight. So sitting on it when you knew or reasonably should have known it was inadequate for your weight would probably be considered as contributory or comparative fault. That should give you some incentive to lose weight. Do it for the people who care about you; excess weight leads to diabetes, hypertension, heart and lung problems, etc. Perhaps this incident is a wake up call.
