Is my grandfather divorce in Mexico not valid in the U.S.?

More details to this question:
My grandfather got a divorce in Mexico in mid 2013, his wife at the time lived in the U.S.A. In December 2013 he was served in Mexico with U.S. paper work for a divorce in the U.S. Is his divorce in Mexico not valid in the U.S.A?

Yes a divorce in Mexico is valid here. Presumably his wife had him served in Mexico. Maybe she hadn't been served with the Mexican divorce.

It probably is, but maybe grandma didn't trust it. He should supply a copy of the Mexican divorce (along with a verified English translation) with his answer to her divorce complaint. That may get her complaint dismissed.
