When I was 12, I was charged with burglary of a building. I was a juvenile and lived in Caldwell, TX. I recently called the probation office there and Pam told me that i had a deferred adjudication. well, with that I shouldnt have any criminal record. I did probation instead of jail time. After talking to her more, she then stated that I was adjudicated. Thats two different things. Well, i hired on with TDCJ in March 2013,and they saw the felony on my record. Im 30, and just found out that I had been charged with this. Pam also stated that she(juvenile records) had kept my file until i was 21. Thats nine years after the fact and according to law, the only time that my file shouldnt have been destroyed was if i was a habitual felon or had done jail time. Which i had neither. Now, I am wanting to sue the City of Caldwell because of neglegence, dereliction of duty, and for causing jobs after I had graduated the police academy last year. I applied to agencies but didnt get hired
