QUESTION

Left tools at work place after lay off and they were stolen.

More details to this question:
was told I could leave them because I was being called back. was not called back and went to get them and they were stolen. As a matter of fact got my tool boxes from another employee and he took out his stuff so I could get the boxes back. Asked him to replace got no answer. No receipts but got good memory as to what I had. Im a welder and need to have them replaced.

Assuming you cannot get anywhere with the owner, I would recommend filing a police report and perhaps even suing the owner for negligence if they agreed to watch over the tools while you were off the job.
