QUESTION

Liablity for inacurrate information on website

Asked on Oct 22nd, 2017 on Litigation - Florida
More details to this question:
Hello, we're planning to publish an online magazine around house building. The information provided on the website will be thoroughly researched. However one can of course never fully exclude the possibility that some of the information might be inaccurate, Is there a danger of being sued for compensation of damages, in case some reader acted upon the inaccurate information and suffered financial or personal damage? For example, if an article on the website explains how to calculate the construction and the calculation presented is wrong. Does it help to have a liability disclaimer on the website? Thank you for your help.

There is always a possiblity that you will be held liable for mistakes that occur, especially when they involve a commercial enterpise. This is why many businesses have "in house" counsel or retained lawyers to review such things and vett them.
