QUESTION

Oral agreement

Asked on Feb 06th, 2014 on Civil Litigation - Texas
More details to this question:
I purchased a piece of equipment from a man in September 2011, we did an oral agreement, I gave him $3000 upfront and made payments as I could. He is now suing me on the grounds that I was suppose to pay it off in one year. He also wants interest and late charges, which we never discussed. What are my rights in this case?

You have a right to a fair trial. If not in small claims court, I strongly encourage you to hire a lawyer to represent you. Otherwise you will likely not get a just result. Glad to discuss with you in greater detail, feel free to call. 281-643-2000.
