QUESTION

Real Estate Partnership Gone Sour

Asked on Nov 07th, 2014 on Civil Litigation - Colorado
More details to this question:
Purchased a house with a friend because my credit rating was insufficient. Now the (former) friend / partner is trying to get me to walk from the deal after I have invested substantial $ or buy her out when she has zero equity or $ in the project. This house was purchased as a rehab project and we have nothing in writing.

Is you name on the deed?  How is the property owned?  If you have invested into this property but your "partner" obtained the mortgage without you being liable for the mortgage that does not mean that you have no ownership rights.  You should contact an attorney to help you with this issue. Good Luck!
