Hi, the water cooling towers in my condominium have broken elements that have caused a buildup of mud small rocks etc to collect in the pipes that lead to my ac units. this caused two units compressors to break, i had to buy a brand new unit for one room and managed to replace the compressor in the other room. I want to know if that is my responsibility since it requires a constant dismantling of my unit to get to the pipes inside my wall to clean out all the time. In the meantime they are replacing the cooling towers. The management told me that i will not be reimubursed even though the cooling towers were broken allowing the mud to collect inside the pipes leading to my ac units.
The general rule in a condominium is that you are responsible for anything in your apartment outside of the walls, and the condo is responsible for anything inside- or coming in from the outside. Unless there is a specific provision in the rules that says otherwise, you should be able to recoup the cost of your broken compressors from the condo.
