Should I have a lawyer or legal representation with me?

More details to this question:
I am a Registered Nurse and I received notice this week that I will be deposed on September 30. I no longer work at the hospital where the incident took place.

If you are not the named defendant in the lawsuit, which I'm assuming you aren't, then it is your choice if you have your own attorney present. If your former employer is the named defendant, that entity's defense attorney will be present at the deposition.

You have given me know facts upon which to base my answer. What are you being deposed about? Are you suspected of having done something wrong? Is there the possibility that criminal charges could result from what you say during your deposition? If any of these are a possibility, Yes, consult with an attorney before your deposition.
