QUESTION

Small Claims?

More details to this question:
Hello, A former friend of mine offered to take professional maternity pictures for me. We corresponded through text message back and forth about when i would be receiving all of the pictures he took of me and my fiancé that day. First he said one week, then it was two weeks, & then he decided to withold the pictures from me altogether. I offered to pay him for the pictures, to which he offered me a price, but said he would give me no more than 2 pictures. I reached out to him again a few months later & he apologized & offered to give me all of the pictures he took. He was once again stalling, so I reached out to him yesterday and he claims he no longer has any of the pictures that they were lost or stolen by his ex girlfriend. I’m very distraught & upset by this, as I can’t go back & try recreate maternity photos. I have all the correspondence through text message of him promising these photos to me from the beginning. What are my options as far as suing him?

Did you have a contract with your photographer? Were there any emails discussing price, quantity, quality, style...etc.? How much were you supposed to pay? Did you pay? if you had a contract, you may have a good cause of action. Please feel free to contact me if I can offer further assistance or information 203-870-6700.
