Someone hacked my facebook can they use those messages obtained against me now?

Someone hacked my personal page and took screen shots of private messages. She is now trying to blackmail me with them. What sort of legal rights do I have? How do I stop her?

Report it to the police and possibly seek a civil injunction against her, if you have the finances to do so.
