QUESTION

Still no small claims judgement months later

Asked on Aug 20th, 2017 on Civil Litigation - New York
More details to this question:
Any idea why a judge wouldn't have a small claims decision 7 months after the court date. We provided several witnesses, pictures detailed documentation all proving our case? The defendants had no evidence but filed a counter suit against us when we wouldn't just drop our claim even though they continued to harass us. At the very least I would have expected the court to throw everything out since we moved but have gotten nothing and the court clerks just tell us to keep waiting?? We'd like to get closure on this. Can the court do this? Background: After two years of putting up with a nuisance neighbor that turned into harassment we took them to small claims court filed it back in July 2016 and last court appearance was January 2017. The judge said we would get his decision in 30 days (from the January 2017 date) and we never did. We called the court multiple times in March and April of 2017 and were told each time by a court clerk that the case was still with the judge.

Call the judge's law clerk.  Maybe he forgot.  You can also write the administrative judge, but be nice.
