QUESTION

Tenant vs Landlord

Asked on Sep 11th, 2016 on Civil Litigation - Florida
More details to this question:
Landlord sent text message saying not to bother paying rent that I had 5 days to vacate. On the grounds of complaints from neighbors that I wasn't even aware I had? Isn't that illegal? 10 days later shows up with notice to vacate for the purposes of 'remodel/renovate'. Going through an eviction as I type. There is no lease in place, though I have lived here 3 years. I am the only white American who lives in these apartments, in which there are 9 in total. The other 8 tenants are of Hispanic Latino descent including the landlord. I don't speak Spanish. I don't even talk to my neighbors, they don't speak English. I am the only tenant of 9 tenants being asked to leave. I have already put an answer to the court. What happens next? Cannot afford attorney and definitely feel like I'm getting the shaft in this. I have never had to needed a lawyer or legal advice before, please help!

As a tetant/renters lawyer, there really is no means to address this for you with a few words of wisdom. You simply need to find a way to retain a lawyer before its too late.
