QUESTION

What are the free access laws pertaining to petitioning?

Asked on Apr 03rd, 2014 on Litigation - California
More details to this question:
I am a petitioner in California and i am often kicked off of property and told it is private, like a vons grocery store for example. However i was told that in California we have free access laws that allow petitioners more freedom and was also under the assumption that a shopping center with multiple businesses is owned by a management company, therefore making it public property. Is any of this correct and do you have any suggestions as to what to do next time i am asked to leave? Thank you!

Not knowing why you were asked to leave I cannot give specifics. It is possible that you could be barred from returning if you were harassing or annoying other customers or if stole something. There may be other reasons but I cannot speculate further.
