More details to this question:
If my daughter was given a court summons (she is 16) to appear due to attendance (mom was not there to sign). And the court date listed was 1-14-12 (it was given to my daughter on 12-10-12).

I would show up in 2013 out of an abundance of caution. Because if she doesn't show and relies on the bad date, they can always file a warrant for a failure to appear.
