What can I do to get the video from the company?

More details to this question:
I was victimized by a thief on September 3, 2013. The company across the street will not turn over the video. I have even had a local DA call there and no reply. Now they can say they purge every week or so. Is there any legal recourse? I am in Buffalo, NY.

Theoretically, you could file a petition for pre-suit discovery. But they have already said that the file has been purged so that may be an act of futility.
