What can I do to prevent text messages from being made public?
Asked on Sep 17th, 2014 on Litigation - North Carolina
More details to this question:
I have been communicating to a person "A". Person "B" is in possession of the texts and wants them to be made public. "B" may be the account owner and owner of the phone.
Probably nothing! It may be possible to file an injunction but that would be a lot of time and expense for something that may be denied. The best course of action for the future is don't send anything you would not want to become public. Besides when you say 'public' its more likely just your limited circle of family and friends - there is not going to be a line of people just dying to see your texts to person 'A'.
