What should I do next ?

More details to this question:
Ok so story goes, I had permission from my Ex girlfriend & her mom (homeowner) that I could keep my broken car on their yard until I get my tax refund. Numerous times they told me it was fine because me and her broke up on mutual terms. So I planned on getting the car today but I get a call last night from my EX. She says "I'm sorry but dace (her insane step dad who should not be living there) is dragging your car out into the street. Me and my brother show up and see the car had been basically totaled (bumper, lights, spoiler, side mirror) all smashed. I called the cops and they said they could not do anything since they did not see him do it. So I got myself a civil complain paper. I would like to know how good are my chances pursuing this ? He has a good lawyer but i have plenty of witnesses &pictures of the car from the night it happened. Please help !

That is because each case is based on facts and what each party can prove.  If you can prove that the step dad damaged your car, you should win.  The damages should be the amount to repair the car to its condition before the damage occurred.  That would require proving what it was before the damage.   Even if you obtain a judgment, collection is another matter.  It may take time and money and you may not be able to recover money.  That is the dilemma faced by anyone seeking to collect money.
