My wife and I cleaned an office for an allergy doctor and there were several times we would clean the exam rooms to find needles left in the sink and not thrown in the red bio hazard can. There were also times where we would find needles/syringes laying in the floor and never picked up by the staff. A few months ago my wife was stuck by a needle while emptying a trash can because it had not been properly disposed into their red bio hazard can. I emailed the person we dealt with over the cleaning on different occasions about my concerns of improper needle disposal only to find it to happen on several occasions thereafter. I have proof of the above mentioned. I want to know if I have a solid case if I were to pursue legal action. Please advise!
First, I would suggest that you stop cleaning the doctors office. Second, you can only sue the doctors office if you or your wife were infected with a disease when being stuck by one of the needles.
