Can a Dr place extra hardware in your back without your permission.

More details to this question:
I had a spinal fusion done last year and the doctor placed an extra piece of metal in my back to use for possible future surgeries and now I have to have another surgery because the extra metal caused Kyphosis in my neck.

Depends on a number of factors, but there may have been actual permission sufficient to do so in the medical autorizations.
