More details to this question:
I had a spinal fusion in March of 2013 and during surgery I had a blood clot develop, So when I came home from the hospital I had a visiting nurse visit and check on me and knowing about the blood clot had to give me coumadin and lovanox but administered the injections in my stomach where I had the surgery which ended up putting me in the ER and a hemoglobin of 5 which I ended up with 6 blood transfusions and an emergency surgery to take out a 17 inch hematoma which developed because of the injections being administered in my stomach. after all of this I went to my doctor for a re check and was told all of this had happened because of the nurse injecting the medicine in my stomach and that I could have died because I was in serious condition..I was told I could sue but dont know if I really could??

you may have a medical malpractice claim against the nurse and his/her visiting nurse company. it depends upon how he/she administered the injection and what his/her understanding was of the way to give the injection and where exactly to give the injection and finally the amount/dose injected. also depends upon what instructions, if any, you were provided with regarding what to look for in and/or around the injection site. please call us. thank you. anthony colantonio, md, esq. silberstein, awad & miklos, pc.
