I had back surgery in march 2015. After the surgery my right leg especially shin and big toe were numb and a burning aching feeling. I told the doctor he said that is typical some times. Don't worry take some pain pills and ice packs and it should let up in a day or two. In a day or two my shin and toe hurt so bad that you could not even touch them. Went to my regular doctor and he said that he thought I had nerve damage and needed to go to the doctor that did the surgery. Six months later had a MRI went to see a brain and spine doctor who said he did not see any disk pinching the nerve. One year later still hurting and taking pain pills for shin and toe. Went and had another MRI. The doctor that did the surgery gave me two injections in the back to try and deaden the nerve. the injections didn't work. Went to see another spine doctor. He did a nerve test said I had nerve damage. Went to see another spine doctor said I had a lot scare tissue and nerve damage from the surgery.
